How to play Animal Detective

Animal Detective is a friendly twenty-questions game for kids. Zookeeper Maddie picks a mystery animal from her menagerie of 76 creatures, and your job is to figure out which one. You ask yes-or-no questions from four categories — Body & Size, Habitat, Food & Behavior, and People — and use the clues to narrow the suspects down. When you're confident, tap "I think I know!" and pick the animal you suspect.

Controls

• Tap a category tab to switch question pools (Body, Habitat, Food, People)
• Tap any question to ask it — Maddie answers yes or no
• Tap I think I know! to open the animal grid and lock in your guess
• Tap the Hint button (one per round) to eliminate roughly half of the remaining suspects

Tips & strategy

• Start broad. "Is it a mammal?" or "Is it bigger than a person?" cuts the field in half on the first question.
• Then narrow by habitat. Land, water, air, or extreme — habitat questions slice the remaining group fast.
• Save the hint for late. The hint is most valuable when you're stuck between 6 or 8 finalists, not when there are 70 suspects left.
• Eliminate, don't confirm. "Does it have feathers?" rules out every mammal at once. Each yes/no answer should kill a category, not pick one animal.
• Don't waste questions on close cousins. If you've narrowed it to two cats, just guess. You only get 20 questions per round.
