How to play Pup Quiz
A breed is chosen and the first clue is shown. Type a guess, or ask for the next clue. Each clue narrows it further — the first tells you the breed group and where it was developed, and the last is a fact distinctive enough to give the answer away. Guessing early is worth more, so the scoring rewards you for committing before the easy clues arrive.
The daily puzzle
Everyone gets the same breed on the same day, and it changes at midnight in your own time zone. Your streak counts consecutive days solved, and it's stored in your browser — there's no account, and nothing is uploaded. The daily draws from the more recognizable breeds so it stays gettable; the endless mode uses all 113.
The other two modes
Higher or Lower shows two breeds and one question — which weighs more, lives longer, sheds more. Pairs that are too close to call are never used, so there's always a defensible right answer. Odd One Out shows four breeds where three share a breed group or a country of origin, and the question always names which. Asking "which doesn't belong?" without saying on what would have several defensible answers, which makes it a coin flip rather than a puzzle.
Where do the clues come from?
The same breed database that powers the breed finder. Group, origin, height, weight, lifespan and coat follow published breed standards, so the measurable clues are checkable facts rather than impressions.
Why isn't my doodle in the game?
Crossbreeds are in the finder but deliberately out of the quiz. They have no breed standard, so there's no fair set of clues to give — two dogs from the same litter can differ enough that any clue about size or coat would be a guess.
Does it accept nicknames?
Yes. Common alternatives are accepted — "Jack Russell", "Alsatian", "Frenchie", "Blue Heeler" and similar all resolve to the right breed, and capitalization, spacing and accents don't matter.
Do I lose my streak if I miss a day?
Yes — the daily streak counts consecutive days. It lives in this browser's local storage, so clearing site data or switching device resets it.
