Two things are tracked at once, which is what makes a printed sheet genuinely useful here: which phase each player is on, and how many points they have accumulated. The winner is the first player to complete phase 10 — and if more than one does so in the same hand, the lowest score breaks the tie.
Like golf, you want fewer. When someone goes out, everyone else scores the cards left in their hand: 5 for each card numbered 1 to 9, 10 for each 10 to 12, 15 for each Skip, and 25 for each Wild. Wilds are powerful and expensive — do not sit on one hoping for a better spot.
You must complete your current phase exactly as written to advance. Fail and you attempt the same phase again next hand, while anyone who succeeded moves on — which is how players end up spread across different phases mid-game. The sheet's phase column is there so you can see at a glance who is where.
A set is cards of the same number. A run is consecutive numbers in any colours. Phase 8 is the odd one — seven cards of a single colour, regardless of number.
Can you lay down part of a phase? No. You complete the whole phase in one turn or not at all.
What happens after you complete your phase? You may add cards to any laid-down sets or runs on the table, trying to shed your hand and end the round.
What are wild cards worth? 25 points against you if you are caught holding one.
